The new Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for individuals making less than or equal to (≤) 150% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) is expected to be implemented in late March 2022.
≤150% FPL SEP Details
APTC-eligible consumers with a projected annual income ≤150% FPL will be able to enroll on a monthly basis:
- Eligible consumers who are new to the Marketplace can enroll year-round.
- Eligible consumers who are currently enrolled to change plans on a monthly basis.
This SEP will offer accelerated effective dates, meaning you can enroll any day of the month for coverage beginning the first day of the month after plan selection.
Medicaid-eligible individuals or individuals in the Medicaid Gap cannot qualify for this SEP, as they are not APTC-eligible. However, lawfully present immigrants who are ineligible for Medicaid due to their immigration status may qualify for APTC and would therefore qualify for this SEP. **This applies to Federal Marketplace enrollments.** State Marketplace may have optional opportunities to enroll.
